“It’s a black comedy on Hollywood celebs.”

Jonah Hill (“Mid90s”/”Stutz”) directs and co-writes with Ezra Woods. It’s a black comedy on Hollywood celebs.
The Hollywood child-film star and adult Oscar-winner Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves) takes time off work to rehab from his heroin addiction. His lawyer Ira Slitz (Jonah Hill) informs him of a blackmail threat through a compromising video targeting him. As a result Reef tries to find the people responsible.
The low-key Reef is viewed as a paranoid who is filled with regret for living such a fucked-up life. Reef’s story is awkwardly portrayed.
Kyle (Cameron Diaz) and Xander (Matt Bomer), Reef’s pals, though meant to be important people in Reef’s life, never have much to do. Meanwhile the story never becomes focused, as odd things keep happening that distract from the main story. The film was sluggish and poorly paced.
It’s a muddled character study that’s not funny (except for a few sight gags).
