The video takes place in The Kitchen, a cavernous artist’s loft in the SOHO section of New York City. It presents a number of avant-garde musical artists doing dance, song and video numbers. The highlights of the video are performances by the energetic and engaging Laurie Anderson, a running commentary on newspapers, media and film by David Byrne from the Talking Heads, and a stunning piano piece entitled Mad Rush by Phillip Glass.

Also included in this classic experimental film are performances that caught my attention by John Lurie, Bill T. Jones, and Brian Eno. There’s a long list of other performers that add to the video’s value. Because it’s rare to get such a quality video of these alternative music performers all together, the film takes on a special meaning.
