“An exciting film.”

Ronan Corrigan directs and co-writes his debut feature with Hope Kemp. It’s a crypto heist Screenlife film, which means it’s taking place entirely on laptop computer screens or cell phones. Other films using this style are Unfriended (2018) and Missing (2023). Both of those films were produced by Timur Bekmambetov, who is noted for doing this type of experimental film.
Four teens from England and America have a blast goofing around with their computer savvy knowledge by messing around with scammers and other online users. They’re led by the nerdy Brit slacker Kyle (Georgie Farmer); his energetic fellow Brit, Sid (Roman Hayeck-Green), the resourceful American Petey (James Scholz), and the talented American anime creator Alex (Yasmin Finney).
Coming across a video by the Brit social media influencer Lindsey Heard (Jessica Reynolds) about her pompous techie billionaire father Don Heard (Charlie Creed-Miles), an Elon Musk type, who brags about his crypto wealth, the nerdy foursome decide to hack into his account and steal his fortune.
Though the playful teens picked on someone who is not likeable to hack, the film never can come up with a morally correct reason for the theft. But the criminal action scenes make it an exciting film.
