Adam Rehmeier (“Snack Shack”/”Dinner in America”) directs a “Bonnie & Clyde” crime drama about young criminal lovers on the run. It’s written by Tom Dean.
Caroline (Samara Weaving) is stuck in a small town in the South working in a gas station convenience store and caring for her loving father Hank (John Gries).
When the drifter Oliver (Kyle Gallner) robs her boss in a scam she says nothing. Attracted to the handsome con man, she runs away with him. She hopes to meet her estranged mom (Kyra Segwick) in South Carolina, who abandoned her when she was young.
Meeting her bar boozing mom is a crushing blow for Caroline.
Caroline learns to be a grifter from her loving boyfriend and learns how to live an outlaw life because she’s found the love of her life.
The stars have a great chemistry together and make the predictable story watchable and believable.
