A solid but predictable reformed gunman Western. Director Sidney Salkow (“The Iron Sheriff”/”Scarlet Angel”) shoots it in black and white, in a no-nonsense way. It’s written in a formulaic style by Louis Stevens. If you’re a fan of George Montgomery you should like this rugged Western. Will Sabre (George Montgomery) rides away from being leader of his bank robber gang to reform as a rancher. The new psychopathic leader Dunsten (Steve Brodie) won’t let him quit. He gives him thirty days to change his mind or the gang will come for him. On the trail, Will helps a 10-year-old boy named Robbie (Bobby Clark) bury his father and takes the kid with him to Durango. Under the alias of Dan Tomlinson, the former outlaw becomes a bank teller. He also proposes to his long-suffering girlfriend Judy (Ann Robinson) from his casino days in St. Louis. Judy now owns a cattle ranch. She tells him she will only marry him if he really quits the gang. To rid himself of the past and start a new productive life, Will must wipe out the gang that come after him and prove to the sheriff (Frank Ferguson) he was not part of the gang that robbed the local bank.
